We left Moose Pass today, wish we
had one more night there. It was a great
location, close to Seward, in the Mountains, with lots of trails nearby. The cottage was really neat with a loft and
wooden staircase for the boys and a deck with a hot tub. While we never saw it, we had a bear visit a
couple of times as he tipped over the garbage and tore the bag. The drive to Homer was very scenic. We drove thru Sterling and Soldotna known as legendary
fishing towns. We stopped to check out
the action on the Kenai River but it was too early for the Salmon to be in, but
there were lots of people fishing!
We arrived at a quaint log cabin
in Homer with incredible views. The boys
are again upstairs with a loft (great planning!) this time with a door
to keep them separated from us (LOL).
They love their downtime hooking up with wifi however they have tons of
energy and can be a bit LOUD, so the
extra space is lovely! This advice from
a bear was hanging in the cabin, I thought it was too cool!
We had a great dinner overlooking
the water and the Kachemak State Park (we are taking a ferry over for a hike in the morning).
We walked around the Homer Spit a little bit which is a slice of land
that is busy with fishing and our tourist activities. We watched a few of the fishing charters
bring in their fish and they were amazing!
It got the boys excited for their fishing charter later this week. Doug and Jake tried out the fishing hole on
the spit for a little bit.
