A BEAUTIFUL start!

We are off to  a BEAUTIFUL start!  Arrived yesterday to a rainy Juneau, after long but uneventful flights.   Apparently  the sun hasn't shined here in 15 days but it is so amazing we aren't complaining.  We are staying two nights at Auke Lake Bed and Breakfast which is close to the Mendenhall Glacier.

The time change is no joke.  Doug and I  did a trail at 5 am near the Bed and Breakfast.

The Mendenhall Glacier area was closed earlier today as it was robbed at the suspect was at large in the area.  Originally we thought it was closed due to a bear attack (there was one 2 days ago here.)  We ended up doing an alternative trail near the Glacier and the boys did great.  Didn't quite make it to the Glacier as we weren't really prepared for that long of a hike, but we went about 6 miles.  It was amazingly beautiful and fun was had by all.  Sam isn't letting us take a ton of pictures of him, but trust me he is here and liking it!

Jake and Doug squeezed in some shore fishing and Jake caught his FIRST salmon.  He was very excited.  We are hoping for continued luck tomorrow when we head out for our first Fishing Excursion.
